“I was raised to treat the janitor with the same respect as the CEO”

There are many people writing blogs these days; some are helpful and inspiring, some are written by sad souls reaching out for help, and some are simple, light-hearted and hilarious pieces which can help brighten a glum day. Then there are THOSE blogs – you know the ones. The poorly written/spelled/edited ‘blogs’, which are really just a platform that bored, stay-at-home mothers/women with nothing better to do, use to complain/brag/seek attention. If you haven’t stumbled across one of them yet; you have that to look forward to! (Followed immediately by the “I want the 15 minutes of my life I just wasted by reading that rubbish BACK NOW!” feeling).

The obvious question now is, which category does my blog fall into? Short answer? None. After years of being urged by family, friends and colleagues, I decided to put my knowledge and experience in various fields to use in the form of a blog. I started this process in early 2014. I’ve had many stops and starts along the way, which will all be explained in the section titled “WALK A MILE IN MY SHOES – MY JOURNEY“.

When I say I have experience in ‘various fields’; I mean that in a very literal sense. I have spent most of my life with a coffee (double shot) in one hand, and a textbook in the other. I have degrees, diplomas, certificates, or experience in the following;

  • Law
  • Justice
  • Design (Interior)
  • Health and Recreational Fitness
  • Nutrition
  • Exercise Science
  • Advanced Anatomy
  • Pilates Instruction
  • Applied Fashion Design
  • Makeup Artistry
  • Dispensary Technician (both Hospital and Community Pharmacy)

After learning as much as I could (and as quickly as I could) I was able to ascertain my passions in life and thus, which path to follow career wise. I have loved writing as a hobby. My law background equipped me with writing skills of a high standard, which I am extremely grateful for. These skills, combined with a natural artistic streak (passed on from my dear Nanna and mother), have provided me with endless fashion and design inspiration, which I am eager to share.

I will always give my honest opinion; even if it is different from others’ point of view. After all, if you are just thinking the same as everyone else; you aren’t really thinking, are you?
