IN A BLONDE BONSHELL’S BEDROOM
Anyone who knows me will tell you I have never been one to follow the crowd, or follow a trend. I love having individual pieces in my home which I can guarantee no one else will have.
I also tend to like things I dream up in my mind – but you can’t actually buy!
Luckily; I have a mother who is a seamstress, so between the two of us we can generally design a pattern and create what I’ve imagined.
Every single item on my bed was designed, sewn and beaded by my mother and I down to the very last pearl. There are 100’s of pearls so by the end I was nearly going crossed eyed and praying they were straight! While it was time consuming and, at times, frustrating to deal with so much material and so many pearls; it was well worth the time and effort.
“Where it all began… Just pieces of material and a sewing machine!”
“My dear mother’s magical hands in action!”
“Pinning a silk ruffle around the border”
“Pearls hand-sewn on every ruffle”
“Set up roughly on the floor to start working out how many pillows we needed”
“Chanel guarding the sequinned cushions we added to break up the white and lace, whilst also adding some bling!”
“THE FINISHED PRODUCT!”
“People always ask how I arrange my pillows to get the most beautiful display. The following photos demonstrate the order in which I arrange them”
“I ABSOLUTELY ADORE the rose look design in this material”
“The two different materials in this pillow show how to make a standard pillow stand out due to texture”
“A strand of diamantes was hand stitched on to bring in the silver sequin pillows and accentuate the silk ruffle”
“Before I move on to show you the rest of my bedroom décor, I’ll display the difference in how it looks at night with the chandelier lighting as opposed to natural daylight”
“The following pictures were taken in natural sunlight”
“I hunted down these amazing tiles for my ensuite and bathrooms. Pictures do not do them justice. As you’ll see, I am a minimalist in my ensuite also”
“I have had this timber toy box since I was a baby. It was a plain timber box with a recess on the front and sides. I nailed every tack (and my fingers!) over the same material which was also incorporated into my pillows”
Until next time,
